World Congress on Adult Guardianship 2016
The first World Congress on Adult Guardianship took place in 2010 in Yokohama, Japan, the second one in 2012 in Melbourne, Australia, and the third World Congress took place in May 2014 in Arlington, USA. The past organizers of the World Congress have asked the German Adult Guardianship Law Association to host the 2016 World Congress in Germany. The 4th World Congress on Adult Guardianship will therefore take place from September 14th – 17th, 2016 at the conference center Bildungszentrum Erkner near Berlin. From Wednesday noon till Friday noon the first part will be held in English and German, from Friday afternoon till Saturday afternoon the congress will then continue in German as a convention of the German Adult Guardianship Law Association.

Registration and accommodation
Registration should be possible on this website from January 15, 2016. If you wish, we can have a room reservation made for you at Bildungszentrum Erkner for the duration of the congress. Booking a room directly with the Bildungszentrum will not be possible. We also have a list of hotels in the vicinity of the conference venue available for you.
 
Poster competition
The organizing committee is preparing an invitation for submissions for a poster competition on "Legal protection of Adults with particular regard to senior citizens – academic research and best-practice-models". Detailed information will presumably be available on this website from January 15, 2016.

Organizers
The World Congress is held under the auspices of the German Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, Heiko Maas. It is hosted by the German Adult Guardianship Law Association in collaboration with the International Guardianship Network. The organizing committee consists of Prof. Dr. Volker Lipp, Prof. Dr. Dagmar Brosey and Karl-Heinz Zander. It is supported by an international advisory board.

Weltkongress Betreuungsrecht 2016
Der erste Weltkongress für das Betreuungsrecht hat 2010 in Yokohama, der zweite Weltkongress 2012 in Melbourne, der dritte Weltkongress im Mai 2014 in Arlington, USA, stattgefunden. Die bisherigen Veranstalter des Weltkongresses haben den BGT gebeten, den Weltkongress 2016 in Deutschland zu veranstalten. Der 4. Weltkongress Betreuungsrecht / 4th World Congress on Adult Guardianship wird vom 14.-17.September 2016 im Bildungszentrum Erkner bei Berlin stattfinden. Er beginnt am Mittwochmittag bis Freitagmittag mit einem deutsch-englischsprachigen Teil und wird von Freitagmittag bis Samstagnachmittag als deutschsprachiger Betreuungsgerichtstag fortgesetzt.

Anmeldung und Unterkunft
Eine Anmeldung ist voraussichtlich ab dem 15. Januar 2016 auf dieser Webseite möglich. Falls Sie es wünschen, vermitteln wir Ihnen für den Zeitraum des Kongresses ein Zimmer im Bildungszentrum Erkner. Eine Buchung von Zimmern direkt beim Bildungszentrum ist nicht möglich. Außerdem halten wir für Sie eine Liste von Hotels in der Nähe der Tagungsstätte bereit.
 
Posterwettbewerb
Das Organisationskommitee bereitet die Ausschreibung eines Posterwettbewerbs zum Thema: "Erwachsenenschutzrechte unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von Senioren – Wissenschaftliche Forschung und best-practice-Modelle" vor. Organisation
Der Weltkongress steht unter der Schirmherrschaft des Bundesministers der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz Heiko Maas. Er wird vom Betreuungsgerichtstag e.V. in Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Guardianship Network ausgerichtet. Das Organisationskommittee besteht aus Prof. Dr. Volker Lipp, Prof. Dr. Dagmar Brosey und Karl-Heinz Zander. Es wird unterstützt von einem Internationalen Beirat.
